Fall Out Boy Young Blood Chronicles.

So The Coolest thing about Fall Out Boys new album Save rock and roll is the videos, the video's tell a story, so far there are 3, I presumed that there would only be about 4 or 5 videos as usually only a hand full of tracks from music albums get released as singles and the story of the videos are titled "The Young Blood Chronicles , I was going to do this when the last video is released but Fall Out Boy are releasing videos for all 11 tracks on the album so I decided not to wait for the last video to be released before beginning this post.

This post is related to an earlier post check out my previous Fall Out Boy post.
This post contains spoilers so I suggest you watch the video's before reading.

So far in the Young Blood Chronicles Fall Out Boy met up and hand cuffed a mysterious case to lead singer Patrick Stumps wrist at the beginning of "The Phoenix" video.
(The Video for "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark" takes place after The Phoenix and young volcanoes and will most likely not be concluded for a while.)

One by one they all get captured by women and they cut off Patrick's hand, now Patrick stump has a stump.

The women presumably have the case and, There is a bit of a pulp fiction reference with not showing the audience what is inside the case but i'm guessing they'll probably show us by the end, my first guess is that it is music or it represents creativity, success or something and they are desperate to keep it safe... and they failed.

I love this video, there was this creepy kid who stalks Patrick, Pete does a spot of falconry which I admit I don't really understand.

(maybe Pete used the bird as a warning or to send a message to the rest of Fall Out Boy or something but they all got captured any way, maybe Pete's bird will return, it might bring help, who knows.
The creepy kid disappears half way through of the video after distracting Patrick while he was being kidnapped, he then hangs a carrier bag with Patrick's hand inside on Pets front door, maybe he will return later on, maybe he won't.)

I love this video because it is pretty much the first time I've seen Fall Out Boy together for a few years.("my songs know what you did in the dark" was released first but  you can't really see their faces, I'll get to that later.) The biggest shock was seeing how they've all changed, all 4 of them look different some how.
For a good minute I thought Patrick had been replaced I really didn't recognize him which I personally think is a good thing, he looks a healthy weight now, he's not over or under weight and he seems so much more confident than before.
People seem to be either happy or unhappy about his change in appearance, some people praise Patrick for improving his appearance, some people criticise him for it and some people criticise other people for taking a sudden interest in Fall Out Boy.

I admit, I find him much more attractive now then I did before but I don't think it's really down to weight loss, he also cut his hair and shaved off his side burns, it's more of a confidence thing, I'm one of those people whilst never being sad or rebellious I was still guilty of sporting a long emo side fringe from about 13 to 15 then got a full fringe before growing it back out from 16 to 18 when I got a full fringe again and sadly I'll probably go back to the emo fringe.

Being an insecure person I end up looking down at my feet and I  hide behind my fringe when its long so I had a hair cut , I think this is the same principle with Pat and I can relate to that , along with the weight loss, hair cut ect he feels more confident which makes him more attractive and because of this Patrick seems to be the focus of the videos where as before he seemed to take a back seat.

The next video in the story so far is Young Volcanoes, the video is explicit as it makes reference to drugs and there is nudity.

So far this is the coolest video, this follows up where the band has been kidnapped and Pat's hand was amputated.

The end of the phoenix video has a brief blink-and-you'll-miss-it shot from this video.
Firstly this song is very upbeat and happy and despite the video being dark and creepy the song fits the video perfectly.

The video starts before the music starts with the kidnappers transporting (what I guess must be Patrick Stump) in a lift while flashing back to scenes of Patrick being cut up, the music kicks in with a happily drugged up Stump tied to a chair sitting at a table while the kidnappers drag the rest of Fall Out Boy kicking and screaming to the dining table, the rest of the band are distressed (which is understandable really).

All though everyone but Patrick is screaming at this point in the video it doesn't seem too horrific, you would think that seeing people freaking out and being tied up would expect to feel slightly more uncomfortable.
I think this happens not only because the music is happy and upbeat thus lifting the viewers mood but because Patrick looks so happy you kind of ignore the rest of the band screaming in the background.

Everyone is fixed up to a drip, the women pour drinks down their throats and put coloured powder up the boys noses until they are happy enough to not want to run away.

They all end up eating what are clearly Patrick's organs, which begs the question; how is he still alive?

When everybody is out of their skulls drunk/drugged they are untied, everybody dances around and a lady gets topless (the topless lady is obviously the reason why the video is Explicit, I doubt  youtube would have a problem with implied drugs and alcohol because censorship is funny like that.)

Fall Out Boy end up passing out back in their seats and the video ends.

Right now I'm still waiting for the next video/videos in the story so I'll probably continue this when more come out.

So far the latest video in the story is the first video "my songs know what you did in the dark"

This was the first video from Fall Out Boy since 2009 which was exciting even if you couldn't see their faces.

I think the absence of faces made it more interesting and secretive, I was dubious at first whether it really was Fall Out Boy ( like there was some kind of joke or mistake or something) which made made it funnier/ more worrying when they showed the band tied up in a van about to be set alight by 2 chainz.

The video is pretty much just women burning instruments, music albums, magazines ect.
As the video goes on it becomes clearer and clearer that they are burning Fall Out Boy specific items and then it looks like they are about to burn fall out boy.

There was this stupid discussion/war type thing in the youtube comments about Fall Out Boy hating on rap or rap being better than rock and there was this argument, I don't think they meant to cause a rap/rock war because obviously 2chainz wouldn't agree to be in a video if it was meant to imply that rock was better than rap and I'm sure Fall Out Boy don't hate rap, hip hop, RnB and urban music seeing as they work with artists from that genre, the new album features Big Sean.

I predict that by the end Elton John will save Fall Out Boy from 2chainz and the kidnappers because that would be funny to watch and would be a fitting ending to the young blood chronicles and a fitting video for the save rock and roll single, at some point I presume Courtney Love, Big Sean, Foxes and Elton John will be making appearances in the videos or at least I hope so and I look forward to the rest of the videos and sharing my thoughts of the next three with the internet.

Young Justice

I've mentioned Young Justice  so many times in blog entries but I haven't really spoken about it properly yet and feel it's about time I did.

Young Justice was a cartoon on Cartoon Network, it was about the sidekicks and teen heroes from the DC universe and was a part of the DC nation block on a Saturday morning.

The producers Greg wiseman and Brandon Vietti changed the line up from the comics to feature characters like Dick Grayson and Wally West for example (Wally and Dick were a part of the Teen Titans not young justice but they were chosen over later sidekicks as people were more familiar with those characters) and a brand new Aqualad called Kaldur was created (possibly to create more racial  diversity, the original aqualad Garth made an appearance and later became tempest.) along with that many of the ages were changed and Artemis's family tree was changed from that of the comics to include Asian heritage and having Cheshire as her sister (Artemis was a kind of obscure female villain/anti hero in the comic books.)

The series was really well written and dark at places, the characters were really well developed and I loved Kidflash/Wally West and Aretmis in season 1 and I loved Impulse/Bart Allen and Bluebeetle/Jamie Reyes in Season 2, I loved the way that drama and action fitted together, the relationships really pushed the series and not just the romantic ones, Miss martian and beast boys brother/sister relationship was really sweet and the Robin/ Kidflash bromance was cool to see.

Unfortunately as I've said a billion times on this blog Young justice (along with Green Lantern Animated Sereis ) was cancelled, the ending was spectacular and I wept when a certain someone died and didn't recover for a good ten minutes after the episode ended.

The ending was more like a cliff hanger than I had hoped because there isn't much worse than an unresolved cliff hanger but the ending did the series justice and maybe they will be able to continue the story some day, the crew seem to want to any way.

Sadly I think maybe the series was too dark and mature for kids to appreciate which might have been why merchandise didn't sell as well and that could have been why it had been cancelled.

Now voice actors, possibly the most high profile voice actor on the show was Jesse McCartney who voiced Robin/Nightwing/Dick Grayson but my favorite was Jason Spisak the voice of Kidflash, unfortunately for him  he was also the voice of the villain Razor in Green Lantern Animated Series which also got cancelled.

I like this voice actor the most for the videos he makes on youtube where he puts on Kidflash and razor's voice to read Dr. Suess and Shakespeare and weird stuff like that which is pretty cool, it's nice for the fans too.

On a side note I found Kaldur in Teen Titans Go the other week, apparently he is a DJ now...
