The ending of "the lich" adventure time.

Adventure time has always had a habit of being wierd but "the lich" has got to be one of the weirdest episodes.

Here is the ending to the episode as for me this is what made the episode truly weird, warning this blog and video contain spoilers.
the episode ends with a more realistic finn with more human facial features and a non magic jake the dog, rather ironically the ending is peculiar because its more realistic looking (for adventure time that is) although i wouldn't say this alternate reality is normal because its not, its still got that fantasy feeling but it's still miles away from the adventure time we're used to.

The continuity in this episode is immense having seen a one armed finn with a nose before in the king worm but there are some crazy theories regarding finn's mother not to mention haven't we seen this house before?
They look pretty similar, so does this mean that whatever is going to happen to one armed finn with a nose from some other dimension happened in finn's dimension, so confusing.

The theory surrounding finn's mother (from what people have suggested on the internet) is that the ghost in the episode "the creeps" is finn's mother, if you look at paintings in the mansion the woman in the pink dress is similar to the one worn by finn's mother, people also suggest that the ghost looked like her hair was seaweed so maybe something happened to her resulting in finn's fear of the ocean, but this seems unlikely  i could be wrong but if it was finn's mother why was her painting and ghost in a mansion i guess we'll have to see how it plays out next season.

I think what confuses me the most is why does finn have a nose, i know most people are concerned by the robot arm which is an alarming change but i think the nose freaks me out the most, most likely because the majority of the characters don't have noses(like marceline, finn and the princesses) unless they are animals (like jake, tree trunks and the penguins) or they are crazy/evil (like lemongrab and the ice king) so by giving finn a nose it feels uncomfortable which in itself is unsettling as its just a nose and surely finn should have a nose, i'm thinking maybe like the ice king lemongrab thing this finn is crazy or troubled, i don't really know.

The whole robotic arm feels less shocking, not too sure why, i heard a theory that the loss of his arm represents the character's loss, the right arm often symbolises peace, justice and truth so losing it could symbolise that finn no longer either has peace, justice or truth in his life or he doesn't represents the hero in this reality, also the flute holds some symbolism of its own, the flute is often associated with the spirit world and magic and is an instrument of the gods, it would appear that through symbolism at least this finn has lost a considerable amount and i can't wait to see the next episode.

I'm running out of cartoons.

I was gutted to hear that DC nation was pulled on the 13 of october till january, i'm a big cartoon fan and absolutely adore young justice, living in the uk the new episodes are behind so i watch the episodes online (i know bad shmell) when the episode is being aired in the us its late in the uk so i tend to watch the episodes on sunday mornings.

Any way on the 14th i was panicking when i couldn't find the episode or any reviews looked into it and found out that actually the DC nation block had been pulled for no apparent reason and will re air in january, which is depressing seeing as young justice had just come out of a hiatus and we'd only seen two episodes, besides the point the episode appeared on itunes and i found it online and saw it anyway, but that really isn't my point.

i also love gravity falls and adventure time, there hasn't been a gravity falls episode since the 5th of october and there won't be one until the 2nd of november and even then wikipedia doesn't mention any other episodes after "boss mabel"  which is the episode to air on the 5th, so i guess that means its the end of the season, as for adventure time the next episode "the lich" looks as if its the season finale too.

So no young justice, no gravity falls and no adventure time so before long i won't have any cartoons to watch for a while, but it'll probably do me good really to get my butt of the computer and out the door, either way january should be great, young justice will be back, there will be a new batman and teen titans go! even green lantern might start warming to me who knows, but i think i might just stick to the sitcoms I like new girl and how i met your mother are pretty good and not going on a hiatus any time soon as far as i know, then again the new teenage mutant ninja turtles is pretty good so far.

Either way much worse can happen to a person then not having any cartoons to watch and if that's one of your biggest concerns in life then your life can't be that bad.

Peta: pokemon black and blue.

Whilst looking through the internet i found out that peta made another video game parody campaign, peta and pokemon don't really see eye to eye, peta claim that pokemon makes dark issues seem light hearted and give children the wrong idea, which i guess is understandable considering the main goal of the game is to capture creatures and make them fight.

I'm a big fan of pokemon, but i'm also a strong believer in  animal rights and against animal abuse, but i'm not so much of a big peta fan.

Peta is an organization that campaigns for animal rights their slogan "animals are not ours to eat, animals are not ours to wear, animals are not ours to use for entertainment, animals are not ours to experiment on, animals are not ours to abuse in any way" and while i love animals and i do respect peta's work, but it doesn't mean i necessarily agree with them.

First of all "animals are not ours to eat".
My mother is a vegetarian because she feels its cruel to eat animals, the problem with being a vegetarian is the nutrients you miss due to cutting meat out of your diet, many vegetarians (mostly women) suffer from anemia, it is possible to get these nutrients (such as protein and iron) from other foods such as beans, lentils, eggs and nuts but meat is more effective.

We are omnivores we eat both meat and vegetables I don't feel that not eating meat is necessary, though it is sad that animals get eaten, but animals get eaten in the wild by other animals too but i feel really needs to be addressed (which is one of petas mains concerns) is animals being abused and neglected by farmers. I'd feel much better about eating meat if I thought that the animals didn't suffer any unnecessary pain during life and that in some way the animal had an enjoyable life, i would also hate to think that lots of the animal went to waste, for instance a pig has so much to offer in the way of meat, you have the nice meat that everyone likes like bacon and ham, pork chops etc, then you have the meat that is less desirable like organs which can be still be eaten or used for science and then anything else can be made into dog food, i would rather have all of the animal used then for it to go to waste.

Secondly animals that are tested for medicine is in my opinion is necessary, my father works for GSK, at the site he works on they test animals, the company it self makes toothpaste, ribena, medicine's etc  and according to my father (who doesn't work in the animal testing department) they are working on cures for terminal cancer and inherited diseases and that is the sort of animal testing i can agree with, as sad as it is to think that animals are being given diseases and tested but imagine how amazing it would be to be told you have terminal cancer and there is a cure, i can agree with that.

What i don't agree with is testing for beauty products, this type of testing was highlighted in the parody game when juniper sprayed your pokemon with perfume, i really don't see why you would need to do this any more, there must be a really long list of chemicals that are safe for humans i don't understand why you would go out looking for new formula's and chemicals to use when you have one's that you know are safe and works just as well.

I sort of agree with not wearing animals but at the same time i don't, its the same with testing animals for me, using real fur for coats and other items of clothing is pointless when you can get good quality fake fur, i would prefer real fur from a farm that treats its animals well and went on to use the animal for meat then having it poached in the wild if it came down to it but i would prefer fake fur, i feel slightly different about poaching as you don't know the effect it has on the environment, what if a vixen was shot and her babies died there would be less foxes and this would upset the ecosystem and further more you know the animal wasn't tame and did not trust humans and gave a fight and chase which is cruel, of course killing anything for a fashion statement is cruel anyway.

As for entertainment as long as the animal is well treated and looked after accordingly i believe its fine.
Our knowledge of animals has grown significantly over time, we know their requirement and how they behave, we now know that keeping an elephant in a circus cage is inappropriate (and to be honest i think that's obvious) we now know of ways to train animals effectively without abusing them (horse whispering for instance).

The game was a real eye opener but didn't feel it was the right way about it, it probably made a lot of pokemon fans think about the morality of the game's they play, but really pokemon isn't to blame for animal cruelty, sure some kids who play it might grow up to be animal abusers, but i think that is down to the type child and think they would grow up like that regardless of what game they play or film they watch, if that was the case i'm sure there'd be more violent people out there, i don't think games or films or anything like that really effects a child's development (of course it's not wise to buy an eight year old call of duty) but i really don't see how games like pokemon or mario could encourage animal abuse.

While the game is an eye opener and it is an interesting way of getting a message out, but i feel its a money  waster, surely it would be more effective to spend money educating children and push for better animal welfare laws and cracking down on real animal fighting rather than using that money to make a game criticising where you fight made up animals, it felt more like an attack than a campaign.
